North Dakota Tax Credit
North Dakota individual taxpayers and North Dakota business are eligible for the North Dakota Charitable Giving Tax Credit, for gifts to a qualified North Dakota nonprofit organization's endowment fund, such as the NDMCA Foundation.
North Dakota Charitable Giving Tax Credit allows for a 40% tax CREDIT for individuals and business who give qualifying gifts to a North Dakota charity. The credit may be carried forward for three additional tax years if it cannot all be used in one year.
For gifts from individuals, the credit is equal to 40 percent of the contribution, up to a maximum credit of $10,000 (or $20,000, if married filing a joint return). To qualify, the contribution(s) to an endowment fund must total at least $5,000 for the tax year. For more information click here.
For gifts from business (other than a sole proprietorship), the credit is equal to 40% of the contribution, up to a maximum credit of $10,000. For more information click here.
These tax benefits are in addition to any federal tax benefits.
This unique tax credit applies to cash gifts or to planned or deferred gifts (e.g., charitable trusts, gift annuities, life insurance policies, etc.) to a qualified ND charitable nonprofit or a qualified ND endowment.
Because the NDMCA Foundation is a 501(c)3 charitable organization, your gift is tax-deductible.
